Meet Matt & Tammy Hoke Matt & Tammy Hoke, and their kids Megan, Emily and Brinton are from Laurel, Maryland, located between Baltimore and Washington DC. Matt worked as a tunnel engineer while Tammy stayed at home with the kids. They both were very active members at Burtonsville Baptist Church where they were involved in many ministries, especially the children’s and youth ministry. Following God’s leading into the mission field, they applied to the Mission Service Corp, part of the North American Mission Board and accepted a position at the First Baptist Church in Kotzebue, AK. They are now working to strengthen and grow the children’s and youth ministry there. The purpose and vision for the children’s and youth ministry at the First Baptist Church of Kotzebue is the same: To provide a safe, fun place for the kids and youth of Kotzebue to come and be with their friends and most importantly to introduce them to our loving Savior Jesus Christ and to help them grow in a relationship with Him.
